About Me

I completed my undergraduate studies in BA Industrial Design with Professional Practice in 2014, which included a valuable placement year with a bespoke lighting manufacturer. Subsequently, I immersed myself in independent lighting consultancies, honing my skills over the past almost ten years to evolve into a confident and successful senior designer. During this time, I've adeptly managed and executed beautiful designs from initial briefs to the completion of various projects.

My commitment to designing for people has guided my decision to pursue a Master's degree tailored to real-world experiences. Enrolling in the MA User Experience Design program, I am dedicated to exploring how to craft meaningful and engaging experiences. The MA curriculum is designed to explore the intricacies of understanding sensory perceptions and develop interactions in the physical realm. The decision to undertake a Master's degree marks the next step in my career, transitioning away from focusing on the built environment and instead looking to create immersive and situated experiences.

Throughout my career, I've observed that genuine connections and a passion for people drive motivation more than mere checkboxes on a CV. Allow me to share a bit about myself:

  • I am based in South London, enjoying the parks and independent coffee shops, but happy to travel.

  • I relish attending industry events such as Darc Awards, Light + Build, and London Design Week, where I engage not only in professional discourse but also in the social aspects—because, as all designers know, a good conversation often pairs well with a drink.

  • I enjoy in activities like swimming, reading, and cooking (or eating..).

  • Occasionally, I challenge myself with baking, enjoying the process and the varying degrees of success.

Presently, I am working as a freelance designer, supporting fellow lighting designers, however my focus is to further my career in experience design. I am open to a variety of roles, and am keen to expand my network.
